My dad was in the British Waterski team in his heyday. He introduced my brother and I to it at a young age. At 13, a friend brought a skurfer down to our local lake and I loved it from then on. As a grom I used to watch every video I could get hold of and brainwash myself. Any other time was spent on the trampoline. A classic grom just foaming over anything wake related.
The road to success
My love for the sport has been constant. It’s crazy to think how fast the sport has developed in such a short space of time. To maintain a decent level of riding I spend a lot of time in Florida/South Africa over the winter months. I can’t imagine not being involved in the sport in some way. I've been fortunate enough to train with Stewart Mackie for some years (UK team coach). Always having my brother to ride with has definitely pushed me in progressing my riding too.
Career highlight to date
Landing the 1st wake to wake 900 in the European contest. Placing 2nd in the Europeans.
Quote that inspires me
'If you aren’t first, you're last.', Ricky Bobby
Motto I live by
A ship at bay is safe but that’s not what they are built for.
If I wasn't...
I guess Shaun White's got it pretty good. If I wasn't a wakeboarder, I'd want to be him. Snow in the winter, skate in the summer.
